Let's start the week by introducing a beautiful place...
Pavviya's Beach Homestay was in our plans from early 2019, when Latha, having worked with us for a few years, requested our support to start welcoming guests at her home.
Carpenter and mason visited the place, we made the plan and before we could start the work, Easter attacks happened. We stopped the plan, as it was too risky spending money at a time when we didn't know how the terrorist attacks would affect tourism.
In February 2020, we again called our construction team, ready to start. Then COVID hit... We stopped the plan.
In 2022, travellers started to come back slowly, but the economic crisis hit. We thought of stopping the plan again. But decided to start anyway. Sometimes in life, if you wait for the ideal situation, it never shows up...
So here it is, after years of delay, Pavviya's Beach Homestay was born, co-created by Latha's family and our team at East N' West on Board.
A lot of recycled material was used to create this homestay (waste wood, used roof tiles, beams, second-hand doors and bathroom fittings, etc.)
This adventure would not have been possible without the active work of Theivendran, Latha's husband, who tirelessly worked with the mason, did all the painting work, helped our carpenter, etc.
Latha was (as usual 😉), all around to make sure everything goes smoothly and everybody gets fed properly.
Pavviya and Abishanth, their children, were also helping here and there with some tasks to move forward, as well as members of the extended family, never too far.
2 connecting rooms sharing the same bathroom enable a family of 4 to 5 to be accommodated.
Food is delicious as always, beach is nearby to enjoy the sunrise on the sea... The whole family is getting ready for the season...
