Today's Diary ✍️ 🌙 When Night Came to Visit Us
Tonight, the night came to visit us.
It came at the same time as always.
It knocked softly on the door.
Before entering, it stood quietly in the darkness and smiled.
Then it whispered:
“One more day has passed from your life journey.”
Nobody counted it.
Everyone had too many things to do—
so many places to go,
so many words to speak,
so many things to worry about.
Very few had time to stop and listen to their own heart.
I whispered back,
“Can you see the world peacefully tonight?”
The night did not answer immediately.
It only opened the window.
Outside, the news and the media were speaking again.
They were telling us how to eat,
how to dress,
how to live,
what to love,
what to fear,
and sometimes even whom to be angry with.
They teach us many things.
But who teaches us to listen to ourselves?
Sometimes we spend so much time listening to the world that we forget the quiet voice inside us.
At the end of our journey, nobody can take the journey for us.
Someone may walk with us for a while.
Someone may even come with us to the cemetery.
But beyond that door, our journey is our own.
So be careful with the road you choose.
When you drive according to the signs, you have a better chance of reaching a peaceful destination.
Keep that in your heart.
When I go from door to door, visiting other people's lives, I often find that nobody has time to open the door completely.
They are carrying heavy things.
Some carry worries.
Some carry anger.
Some carry other people's opinions.
Some carry words that were never theirs.
And even when night comes, they do not know where to put those heavy things down.
Do not become uncomfortable because of the words others spread about you.
Lies have wings.
They can travel very quickly.
Truth often walks slowly.
But when its time comes, truth stands brighter than the lie.
A lie may need a thousand more words to protect it.
Truth does not.
Truth has only its own word.
It does not need another story to cover it.
Understand that carefully.
The darkness became quiet.
The night spread its gentle shadow across the earth and slowly disappeared into itself.
Above us, the moon was shining softly.
Perhaps these days belong to darkness.
Black and white.
Two colours.
But two colours can still create thousands of different pictures.
Then my mind flew far away—
to Valparaíso in Chile.
A city rising along the mountains, where houses climb the hills and their lights begin to sparkle when darkness arrives.
From a distance, the mountain looked like a tree filled with tiny fireflies.
Every little home was a light.
Every light seemed to say:
“Someone is living here.”
And suddenly, the vineyards came into my thoughts.
Grapevines growing under the warm Chilean sky.
The taste of w**e.
The old Spanish influence.
The mountains.
The earthquakes.
The sea.
The colours.
The beautiful, imperfect story of a place that continues living.
The world is beautiful.
But perhaps it becomes even more beautiful when human beings have good attitudes toward one another.
Without competition.
Without unnecessary anger.
Without treating life like a marathon in which somebody must always run ahead of somebody else.
Perhaps that is only a dream.
Because when you and your neighbour are constantly competing, how can we expect the world to remain peaceful?
We need more human beings with human qualities.
There are still many vacancies in this world.
Not for managers.
Not for millionaires.
Not for champions.
But for people who know how to be human.
People who can listen.
People who can forgive.
People who can speak truth without cruelty.
People who can see another person's happiness without feeling smaller themselves.
Tomorrow morning, when the sun smiles near your doorstep, ask yourself:
“Am I ready to become a little more human today?”
Before going to bed, listen to nature.
She does not shout.
She does not compete.
She does not explain herself with a thousand words.
The breezy wind slowly enters through the open window.
Feel that beautiful coolness.
Listen.
Perhaps nature is already explaining everything.
The Diary Book has turned another page.
The pen has written its small words.
The night has finished its visit.
And somewhere beyond the darkness, tomorrow is waiting.
Wake up with good qualities.
Wake up with a quiet heart.
Wake up ready to be human.
And now…
it is time for a warm cup of black coffee. ☕🌿
