The Science Behind Sri Lanka’s Stilt Fishermen 🌊

Ever wonder why fishermen in southern Sri Lanka sit on wooden poles without using any bait? It isn't just tradition—it's smart physics! 🎣

🌊 No Shadows: Sitting high above the water prevents casting a shadow, so fish stay calm and don't swim away.

⚡ Wave Flow: The thin pole lets crashing waves pass right through without disturbing the water underneath.

🐟 Smart Hooks: Fast-moving bare hooks fool fish into thinking small surface insects are jumping on the water!

Next time you see Ritipanna along the coast, you are watching pure natural physics in action!

Some journeys begin with a destination and for Amy and her family, that destination was Heaven’s Acres Lodge 💚

Travelling all the way from England, they planned their Sri Lanka holiday around staying with us while celebrating Amy’s mother’s 60th birthday.

It was a true privilege to be part of such a special family milestone. Thank you for choosing Heaven’s Acres Lodge and for sharing your wonderful experience with us.
