MUSINGS | Casablanca woke up different this morning. JUJ Café’s football table sat quiet for once, the Hassan Hajjaj portraits on the wall (his tribute to Moroccan street culture, born from a collaboration with footballer Achraf Hakimi) suddenly looking less like art and more like prophecy. Morocco are through to the quarterfinals. Again.

We’ll be here with mint tea in cans-turned-lanterns, watching the city figure out how to hold this much joy.

More from Casablanca, coming soon.

São Pedro Bay doesn’t try too hard, and that’s exactly the point. Villa apartments built into stone and timber, hammocks strung beneath acacia trees, a pool that opens onto São Vicente’s cliffs and the Atlantic beyond. Mindelo, Cape Verde’s cultural capital, is a short drive away, but out here in São Pedro, everything slows right down.

Rustic in the best sense: raw stone, warm wood, nothing overdesigned. Just a place that’s confident in what it already has.

São Pedro Bay

The pool opens straight onto São Vicente’s cliffs and the Atlantic beyond. Mornings here move slowly.

São Pedro Bay doesn’t try too hard, and that’s exactly the point. Stone-built villas folded into the garden, a hammock strung beneath acacia trees, no rush to be anywhere.

A short walk down: São Pedro Beach, wide and wild, the Atlantic doing exactly what it wants.

Small things worth noticing: shells collected on the wall, ice plant and yucca doing the rest of the landscaping.

The earthy rustic landscape makes a pretty beach backdrop.

MUSINGS | There’s a particular kind of stillness in a fishing village that no resort can replicate. Palmeira, on the island of Sal, is one of those places — colourful boats bobbing in the harbour, the scent of salt in the air, and life moving at its own unhurried pace.

Cabo Verde doesn’t ask you to rush. Palmeira is proof of that.

MUSINGS | The beach club at Le Méridien Ra just got a proper upgrade. Already one of the Costa Daurada’s most considered stays, with a 7,200sqm spa and a history that stretches back to a 1920s maritime sanatorium, the new beach club brings classic rice dishes, elevated starters, pizzas and burgers to a setting with, quite honestly, an unbeatable view.

HOTEL REVIEW | There is a particular kind of quiet that settles over La Garrotxa. Not silence. More an absence of urgency.

Off Grid Girona is a restored 17th-century masia in the heart of Catalonia, built entirely around that feeling. Unapologetically stylish, warm without trying, and anchored by a communal table that has a way of turning strangers into hiking companions by morning.

The kind of place you book for a night and stay longer.

BOUTIQUE HOTEL | Casablanca doesn’t ask you to slow down. does.

Most people move through Casablanca. It’s that kind of city — a hub, a connector, a place between places. But Villa Sahrai, the city’s newest design hotel, makes a quiet case for staying.

Dark marble. Warm wood. Terracotta artwork that nods to the city just outside the window. The kind of interior that knows exactly where it is.

More on the site soon.

NOTES | Barcelona has always known how to live well. What’s shifted recently is the intention behind it — a quieter wave of spaces built not around indulgence for its own sake, but around something more deliberate. Heat and cold. Breath and stillness. The kind of experience that asks you to arrive, rather than simply pass through.

Halcyon Spa at SLS Barcelona — genuinely cinematic, with a cenote-inspired pool and treatments developed with longevity science brand SEPAI. Repeat in Eixample, where Lagree, contrast therapy and red light sit inside one of the most considered interiors in the city, with handmade tiles by the same ceramicist behind elements of the Sagrada Família. Por V***r in Poblenou — Barcelona’s first Nordic gastronomic spa, communal, unhurried, and family-friendly. Full piece at the link in bio.

BED SERIES | Ochre walls, dark beams, and linen that hasn’t decided what time it is yet. is the kind of place that makes an alarm clock feel like an insult — the birds handle that. Heritage-deep, quietly considered, and in no particular hurry. Just how we like it. 🐦

BLACK BOOK | An ancient fishing settlement on the edge of Boavista. Stone walls. Thatch roofs. Yellow shutters catching the Atlantic light.

Spinguera Ecolodge sits inside Boavista’s natural park — 10 rooms, two apartments, and almost nothing but ocean and silence between you and the horizon. The infinity pool looks out over scrubland and sea. The staff are local. The pace is entirely your own.

This is Cape Verde without the noise. Simplicity as a genuine choice, not a compromise.
