🇬🇧 Time stands still with Philao Boat Cruise!
Departure from Mahébourg, where Jonathan and his magnificent speed boat are waiting for us.
First we head for Ile de la Passe. We passed Mouchoir Rouge, a tiny private island.
20 minutes later, after taking in the sights and sounds of the lagoon, we disembarked on Ile de la Passe. Uninhabited and deserted, we were alone, like Robinson Crusoe. Discover the history of the monuments built by the French from 1715 to 1810 and then by the British from 1810 to 1968. Stroll around the island, taking in the view. We could stay there for hours, imagining ourselves living a few days "Koh Lanta" style, but no, we have a busy programme ahead of us.
We leave our first destination for the next. We had to pass in front of Vacoas Island, a tiny island positioned between the 2 larger ones.
We docked on Ile aux Fouquets, commonly known as Lighthouse Island. The lighthouse is enthroned high up in the middle of the island, with only a few endemic animal and plant species as makeshift companions. Visit the lighthouse and its island.
Back on the boat, it's time for an aperitif! Jonathan offers you a choice of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and as we sip our drinks, he heads for our final destination, Ile aux Aigrettes.
A burst of speed to cool us down! With our hair blowing in the wind (for those who have it), Ile aux Aigrettes is only a few nautical miles away. As we get closer, the colours of the lagoon intensify into bright, translucent turquoise - the lagoon is a thing of beauty! The ideal place to relax or snorkel, lulled by the gentle current and amazed by the marine life.
All good things must come to an end, and we return to Mahébourg.

🇫🇷 Le temps s'est arrêté avec Philao Boat Cruise !
Départ de Mahébourg, où Jonathan et son magnifique speed boat nous attendent de pied ferme.
Direction l'île de la Passe pour commencer. On passe devant Mouchoir Rouge, toute petite île privée.
20 minutes plus t**d, après en avoir pris plein les yeux en contemplant le lagon au gré des flots, on débarque sur l'île de la Passe. Inhabitée, déserte, nous sommes seuls, tel Robinson Crusoé. Découverte historique des monuments construits par les français de 1715 à 1810 puis les anglais de 1810 à 1968. Balade sur l’île, contemplation de la vue. On pourrait y rester des heures, s’imaginer y vivre quelques jours à la « Koh Lanta » mais que nenni, un programme chargé nous attend.
On quitte notre première destination, pour la suivante. Passage obligée devant l’île aux Vacoas, minuscule île positionnée entre les 2 plus grandes.
On accoste sur l’île aux Fouquets, communément appelée l’île au phare. Le phare trône au milieu de l’île, en hauteur et n’a comme compagnon de fortune, que quelques espèces animales ou végétales endémiques. Visite du phare et de son île.
Retour au bateau, c’est l’apéro ! Jonathan vous propose des boissons alcoolisées ou pas, et tout en sirotant notre verre, il prend la direction de notre dernière destination, l’île aux Aigrettes.
Un petit coup de speed pour finir de nous rafraîchir ! Cheveux au vent (pour ceux qui en ont), l’île aux Aigrettes n’est à quelques nautiques. Au fur et à mesure qu’on approche, les couleurs du lagon s’intensifient de turquoise vif et translucide, le lagon est de toute beauté ! L’endroit idéal pour s’y détendre ou pratiquer le « snorkeling », avec masque et tuba, bercé par le léger courant et émerveillé par la faune marine.
Toutes les bonnes choses ont une fin, retour à Mahébourg.
