Our last photography residency at DAMA: Meet .stevens - a travel photographer from Utah who's inspired by the infinite scale of the world around us. Gus is drawn to the chaos of cities, the energy of its people and the hidden peace that can be felt when you least expect it.

Through photography his goal is to capture moments that embody both feelings of chaos and calm, for the viewer to feel the energy of a location, and for his photograph to serve as a record of what something was like.

Gus is driven by the vastness of the world and the inability for himself or anyone to truly see it all. Because of this he strives to make his photographs portals for the viewer to experience a time and place and observe the world as if you were there. The world feels endless, the visuals and chaos are infinite, but Gus aims to create images from where he has been to give evidence to the viewer that calm and beauty can be found anywhere.
