Rancho los Gallos is located in the Mexicali valley approximately two and half-hours from San Diego. Our Ranch house is in the small village of Ejido Janitzio, which is twenty minutes directly south of Algodones, Mexico (Yuma). It is a peaceful town of about 500 people. There are three tiendas, a church, school, park and soccer field, and a few small cattle operations. The people are very friendly

and enjoy working with us. The Ranch house was the home of a former government official and well-known politician in the Mexicali valley. It is a four-bedroom home that sleeps twelve comfortably. We have air conditioning, three bathrooms, a large dining area, TV room, cantina, and a kitchen operated by a staff of two local ladies who turn out authentic Mexican cuisine daily. The property is gated in and many of the owners family live nearby and act as caretakers. If you have never hunted in the Mexicali valley then you are in for quite a surprise, there are a lot of birds. The population is consistent with some of the most populated birds habitats in the world. Dove hunts are typically better than you have ever seen unless you have been to South America, the pheasant hunting can’t get any better and the Quail hunting is world class as well. We have a working relationship with a ranch in Ojos Negro strictly for Quail hunting, which is forty-five minutes up the mountains from Ensenada B.C. Most of the hunts are two-day hunts that include two days of hunting, your gun (12 or 20 guage), a bird boy for each hunter, fees and licensing, ammunition, food and hospitality, and transportation from lodge to the hunting grounds. The only things not included in your pricing will be for alcoholic beverages and gratuity. We like to build a price for the trip and have one transaction, not many and mysterious. We limit the shells to a case on the two-day pheasant/dove trips and six boxes for dove and quail trips. Extra shells will be available at $12 a box if needed. The prices are as follows:One Day Dove Hunt - $350 Two dove hunts, morning and afternoon, or can be split into an overnight stay if you reverse the order of hunts. Ten hunter capacity.Pheasant/Dove Hunt - $950 Two days of hunting, morning pheasant hunts followed by afternoon dove hunts. One day programs are offered for $500. Ten hunter capacity.Quail Hunt - $1250 Two days of hunting at our Ojos Negro ranch, one day trips are not available. Six hunter capacity.
