Tanjung Rhu Resort joins Malaysians in mourning the passing of Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali.

As the wife of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, she stood beside him through many defining years in Malaysia’s history. Yet Tun Dr Siti Hasmah will also be remembered in her own right. Affectionately known to many as Ibu Negara, she touched lives through her kindness, compassion and commitment to the wellbeing of others.

Her quiet strength and gracious presence leave a lasting place in the hearts of Malaysians. We honour her life and the care she showed to the people around her.

Salam takziah to Tun Dr Mahathir and the entire family. May Allah SWT shower her with mercy, grant her a place among the righteous and give her loved ones strength and patience during this difficult time.

Every cocktail has a story. This one starts with a humble stalk of sugar cane.

Freshly harvested under Malaysia’s tropical sun, sugar cane brings a naturally sweet, refreshing flavour that has been loved for generations.

We gave this local favourite a little twist. Fresh sugar cane juice meets rum, triple sec and a splash of citrus, blended into an icy, smooth creation that is sweet, zesty and refreshingly tropical.

We call it Snowy Tebu. “Tebu” means sugar cane in Malay, making it a little taste of local tradition served with a spirited twist.

The Great Durian Debate:
Is It Really the King of Fruits?

There’s only one way to settle the age old durian debate... by tasting it!

Our guests were invited to sample the famous King of Fruits and cast their vote for one of two choices: “King of Fruits” or “Not For Me.” The reactions were priceless. From curious first bites to laughter, surprise, and unforgettable facial expressions, every moment made this tasting session one to remember.

After all the votes were counted, the results were in... “Not For Me” claimed victory with 24 votes against 19! It was a close contest, proving that durian is a fruit people either absolutely love or simply can’t get along with.

One thing is for sure, regardless of the final score, the laughter, the brave first bites, and the priceless expressions made this one of our favourite moments to share with our guests.
