Famous for its hillside KL skyline view, you can admire all three of Kuala Lumpur’s iconic landmarks — Merdeka 118, the Petronas Twin Towers (KLCC) and the KL Tower — all from a relaxed mamak setting with a breezy evening atmosphere. The eatery is best known for its comforting claypot dishes, especially the Maggi Satti Sorru (claypot maggi), served piping hot with rich, spicy gravy that hits differently when enjoyed in the cool night air. I have reviewed countless Hakka, Cantonese, Hokkien, Teochew restaurant but being a Foochow myself, PUTIEN RESTAURANT whom specialises in Heng Hua cuisine is the closest if I am craving for Foochow food. Putien is a prefecture city in Eastern Fujian province and the people primarily are Heng Hua descendant. Originated from Singapore, Pu Tien opened it’s first branch in One Utama, Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya but only the original outlet in Kitchener Road, Singapore has a 1 Michelin star.

The food here is equally impressive, especially their wide selection of hotdogs loaded with generous toppings — the standout being The Wagyu Philly Cheese (RM32), which packs tender steak and cheese into a banh mi bun delivering the perfect texture that makes it love at first bite. I would say the real star is the bun itself! Brilliant bar food, great beers, pet-friendly and a welcoming atmosphere make this a hidden gem in Bukit Damansara 🌭🍻✨
