The “M” group never fails to amaze us! ☕✨ Manyflow HQ, the latest flagship café under the “M” group, is located along Jalan Batu Tiga Lama, on the main road leading into Klang town. This is the second Manyflow outlet, following the first one in Bandar Botanic, and it’s already making waves in the local café scene. The interior features aesthetically pleasing wooden décor, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Interestingly, they also sell personal care products, including scented body lotion, shampoo and body wash, so there’s more to browse than just food and drinks! 🧴✨ Of the few things we ordered, one dish that deserves a special mention is their Unagi Bowl (RM30). Honestly, the price feels like a steal for the generous amount of ingredients they serve! The bowl comes loaded with generous chunks of shrimp and ebiko, adding plenty of texture and flavour to every bite. 🦐 Another must-try is their Vienna Coffee, topped with sweetened whipped cream that complements the coffee beautifully, adding a lovely creamy sweetness to every sip. ☕ From the food and drinks to the thoughtfully styled interior and lifestyle products, Manyflow HQ shows that the “M” group knows how to keep things exciting. With its new flagship location and tempting menu, this café is well on its way to becoming Klang’s latest crowd favourite. Definitely one to add to your Klang café-hopping list! 😍

From Bentong to Klang! 🍗 Mun Zai Bentong Roastery in Taman Berkeley is founded by a Bentong-born owner who started with a small stall in Bentong back in 2014, selling his signature Hamsap Chicken before bringing his Bentong flavours to Klang. And that Signature Hamsap Chicken is definitely on point—juicy, flavourful and seriously delicious! The roast duck comes in two flavours, Angelica Herbal or Orange Peel, and both were equally good, so it really depends on which flavour you prefer. You can have your roast meats with plain rice, fragrant oily rice or noodles, but for us, the real star that deserves a special mention is their homemade garlic chilli! 🌶️🧄 It was so addictive that we didn’t just dip our food into it—we practically doused our food in it! That garlicky, spicy kick paired so well with the roast meats and made every bite even more shiok. We also like that the menu carries some Bentong-inspired favourites like tofu puff, giving the place a little taste of the owner’s hometown. If you’re a roast meat lover and, like us, believe that a good chilli can make or break the meal, Mun Zai is definitely worth adding to your Klang food-hunting list! 😋🔥

We’ve tried Omakase experience before, so this time we decided to give Umi Robatayaki in Bangsar South a try. 🍢 What’s interesting is that both Uni Omakase and Robatayaki are available under the same roof, so you can choose the dining style that suits you. For the Robatayaki, the set menu starts from RM168++ and goes up to RM428++, and we opted for the RM168++ set. If you don’t take beef, you can also swap it for a tiger prawn, which is a nice option. The highlight of the experience is watching the food being grilled over the burner and then served directly to us using a long wooden paddle—a fun little presentation that definitely adds some theatre to the meal! The grilled items come with that lovely smoky, charred flavour you would expect from robatayaki, and overall we enjoyed the experience. If you’re looking for something a little different from the usual Japanese dining experience, Umi Robatayaki is worth considering, especially if you enjoy watching your food being grilled right before you eat. 🍢🔥

Step back in time at Mansion 1969, a charming old wooden house in Jenjarom that was actually built in 1969 and once served as the Ser family home. Today, this piece of history has been given a new lease of life as a café-cum-heritage gallery, and I love how much of its old-world character has been preserved. Inside, you’ll find all sorts of vintage collectibles and antique treasures from old cameras and typewriter to telephones, gramophones, a vintage postman’s bicycle and old photographs, making it feel almost like a little museum where every corner has a story to tell. As for the food, we found the dishes generally enjoyable, with a mix of local and Western favourites, but honestly, the real highlight for me is the spacious back garden! 🌿🐾 There are rambutan trees, a little chicken coop and even a rope swing tied to one of the rambutan trees, while a seesaw provides some old-school fun for the little ones. What makes it even more special for pet owners is that our furkids can roam freely in the spacious garden. There is a separate entrance specifically for pets—a thoughtful touch that I really appreciate. 🐶🐾 Mansion 1969 feels less like just another café and more like stepping into a little piece of yesteryear. ☕️🌿

Located along Little India Street in Klang, Nila Family Restaurant is one of the spots to check out for South Indian flavours. Their menu covers a wide range of Indian favourites, from traditional meals and biryani to curries, tandoori and seafood dishes. We went for the banana leaf rice, served with steamed rice, an assortment of vegetables, curries and accompaniments the traditional way on a banana leaf. There’s something so satisfying about mixing the rice with the different gravies and enjoying every mouthful with your fingers—the simple, fuss-free way that makes banana leaf rice such a beloved Malaysian dining experience. Among all the side dishes served, the Bread Halwa was the standout for me! This rich and indulgent Indian dessert is made by frying bread in ghee before cooking it with milk and sugar, resulting in a soft, sweet and buttery treat that was simply too good to resist. In fact, it was so good that we had to order another serving from the menu! 😋🍃 If you’re exploring Klang’s Little India and craving South Indian food, Nila Family Restaurant is definitely worth checking out.

Looking for a taste of Hakka Lui Char in PJ Old Town? Traditional Hakka Lui Char Restaurant 傳統河婆擂茶餐室 is a long-established spot known for its signature dish, the traditional Lui Char! The Lui Char was quite good, with a wholesome choice of regular or brown rice, plenty of vegetables and the distinctive Hakka tea soup that makes this dish so unique. If you prefer a vegetarian version, you can always omit the dried shrimp. We also tried their homemade curry chee cheong fun, which was noticeably thicker than the usual chee cheong fun I’ve had, giving it a different texture and bite. Besides their savoury dishes, they also sell traditional snacks including maltose biscuits and tambun biscuits, perfect for bringing home or enjoying with a cup of tea. A nice little spot to explore if you enjoy traditional flavours and nostalgic local treats! 😋🍵🥢

A cendol showdown at Medan Selera PJ Old Town! 🍧 We tried both Auntie Peggy's Classic Ice Kacang - Weng Kee - 荣记冷饮摊 at Stall No. 46 and Jessie Special ABC 48 at Stall No. 48, and while both is priced at RM5 and have their own loyal fans, my personal verdict goes to Aunty Peggy's. Her cendol was more aromatic, with the lovely aromatic coconut milk and gula Melaka, while the shaved ice was incredibly fine and smooth, making every spoonful enjoyable. The red beans were hidden underneath the mountain of shaved ice and served whole, giving them a nice bite without being mushy. Jessie's, on the other hand, came in a bigger portion and is definitely more filling, but I personally found it lacking a little in aroma, and the shaved ice was slightly coarser. The red beans were placed on top of the mountain of shaved ice and had a softer, partially mashed texture, with some of the beans still holding their shape. That said, taste is very subjective, so it really depends on your personal preference whether you prefer a more fragrant and silky-smooth cendol or a bigger and more generous portion. Both stalls have their own style and supporters, so why not try both, decide which team you're on, and tell me in the comments below! 😋🍧

Pondok Makan "Ayam Goreng Bu Hartin" in Wates, Kulon Progo is a lovely spot for enjoying traditional Indonesian flavours in a very kampung-style setting, right beside the paddy fields. We ordered the Ingkung Ayam Kampung, a whole free-range chicken served with steamed vegetables, tofu, tempeh, crackers and an assortment of sambal and condiments, together with Nasi Liwet Sunda, the fragrant coconut-infused rice that paired beautifully with the chicken and all the accompaniments. What makes the experience even more special is the peaceful rural setting, with the restaurant overlooking the rice fields and, on a good day, trains passing through the landscape nearby. Unfortunately, we visited just after the harvest season, so instead of lush green paddy fields, we were greeted by a rather bare brown field—but it was still a pleasant and relaxing place to enjoy our meal. Besides the à la carte choices, they also offer buffet options, making it a convenient spot if you want to sample a wider variety of Indonesian dishes.
