Happy New Year 2024.
My open letter to our President GCFR Bola Ahmed Tinubu. It is under statement to say that the large population of Nigerian are hungry. The palliative the government does after the removal of subsidies are good but not reaching enough people.
My suggestion are as follows.
1. Food Bulk Purchase:
Government can reach the large numbers of citizens through distribution of foods at subsidised prices. Through all Ministries and their agencies. Trade unions and Labour unions.
2. Price Controls:
Provision of household appliances at a subsidised rate through MDA/ parastatal, cooperatives and associations.
3. Creations of Food Bank in all Universities. Government can use Tetfund to build food storage and sell at reduced prices.
3. Provision of basic drugs at reduce price at drugstores or free.
Government must make sure they use security agencies to comply in distribution.
Once there are these, the issue of insecurity will go down drastically.
