Sometimes, Agriculture Feels Like Magic
Honestly, there’s something truly magical about watching life emerge from the soil. This video was taken just a few days after planting maize in a section of the Okooba, Ago-Iwoye, Ijebu, Agricultural Park by Ijebu Market in August and you could already see tiny green shoots breaking through the earth. That sight never gets old.
Each time I walk through the agricultural park, I’m reminded that agriculture is more than just a science or a business — it’s a quiet conversation between human effort and nature’s rhythm. You plant, you nurture, you hope and then one day, you return to find a field transformed.
The section you see in that video was just the beginning. Since then, the crops have gone far beyond what the footage showed — as I recently shared in another video two days ago which was recorded over two weeks ago. It’s humbling to see what consistency, good soil, and the right conditions can create in such a short time.
As the year draws to a close, we’re already looking towards harvest — both the literal one in our fields and the broader one in the opportunities we’re cultivating together.
Sometimes, agriculture feels like magic. But really, it’s the magic of work, patience, and faith meeting fertile ground.
