Did you know that drinking malt and liquid milk does not “give blood”?
That belief is a myth.
Taking malt and liquid milk together does not increase blood volume or replace lost blood. What it does is provide energy and nutrients that help the body regain strength.
For example, when someone donates blood, doctors often advise them to drink malt, milk, or other nourishing fluids. This is not to create new blood instantly, but to:
* Restore energy
* Prevent weakness or dizziness
* Support the body while it naturally replaces the lost blood
Important Knowledge
1. Blood is not produced instantly.
The body needs days to weeks to replace donated blood.
2. Red blood cell production mainly depends on:
* Iron
* Vitamin B12
* Folic acid
* Protein
* A healthy bone marrow
3. Malt and milk:
* Provide calories, protein and some vitamins
* Help with strength and recovery
* But contain little iron, which is essential for making blood
What Truly Helps the Body “Build Blood”
Foods and nutrients that support blood production include:
* Iron-rich foods: Liver, red meat, beans, spinach, ugu, bitter leaf
* Vitamin C (helps iron absorption): Oranges, pineapple, guava
* Vitamin B12 & folate: Eggs, fish, milk, green vegetables
