In May, we had the joy of welcoming Ingvild, .wild.and.free to Bekkola. She spent a few days with us, photographing life on the farm and offering a beautiful mindfulness session with our horses.
During the session, something remarkable happened. One by one, the horses chose to lie down beside the group. If you had witnessed the moment, you might have thought they had been trained for it or somehow told what to do. But they hadn’t. This is simply what horses sometimes do when people slow down, become fully present, and create a calm, safe space. Their quiet presence invited everyone to slow down and do the same.
Many participants found themselves reconnecting with long-suppressed memories, gaining new insights and reflections, and experiencing a deep sense of emotional release. It was a powerful reminder of what can unfold when we feel safe enough to simply be present—with ourselves, with each other, and with the horses.
Alongside her work as a photographer, Ingvild is a clinical psychotherapist with a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health, offering individual equine-assisted psychotherapy and group work in the areas of Lier, Holmestrand, and Finnskogen. She also offers reiki healing and energy work.
Thank you for the beautiful space you created, Ingvild. The pictures are taken by Ingvild herself✨
