Time flies when ya having fun 😁 1year ago today our dream of owning a BnB arrived on the back of a truck and the hard work began to get her up and running by the 1st of December. We achieved it and have had thee most amazing 9months in business. Had the pleasure of meeting some awesome guests form near and far. Greatful for each and every guest that chooses to stay in our little part of the world. Looking forward to many more visitors up in beautiful Northland. Bring on summer ☀️
Biggest shout out to my amazing hubby Dav Mac ❤️ for having always believed in my dreams and constant support with all my wild ideas and creations. Together we make a pretty kick arse team. 😉

Little lambs springing up everywhere, trotting about with proud Mummas. Not forgetting our loyal chap Horse in for his snacks and daily scratch. 🐑😂😍 Our weekend guests were so excited to get up a personal with this crew, very cool experience for them. Love sharing our special space with guests.

🦉 BACKING A SURVIVOR.

The Laughing Owl is the inspiration behind everything we do.

Once found throughout New Zealand, it's distinctive call echoed through the night. But the Laughing Owl did not survive. Today, it is extinct - a unique part of New Zealand's natural history that has been lost.

Which is exactly why we're getting behind one that did.

The Ruru is New Zealand's only surviving native owl.

So for Forest & Bird's Bird of the Year 2026, we're backing a survivor.

The Ruru has never won Bird of the Year. We think it's time to change that.

Make the Ruru one of your five.
