Such a great bunch of people to work with, here’s to many more years.

The Barn at Killin went from a family holiday home into a favourite stop on the Alps 2 Ocean Cycle Trail. Rebuilt after the devastating Lake Ōhau fires, now welcoming cyclists with warmth, luxury and unforgettable alpine views.

Another Aurora over Lake Ohau here at The Barn after another glorious day.
Thankfully some cloud rolled in about midnight so I could go to bed!

A couple of hours standing in Lake Middleton in my gumboots to capture the Aurora at The Barn at Killin, Lake Ohau, plus a few trillions stars.

A bit of cloud about and a rather shaky tripod in the wind, but a fabulous Aurora over The Barn at Killin tonight.

October 28th 2025 The snow didn’t go away overnight, restarted operation ‘plant rescue’ shaking the heavy, wet snow off covered plants & trees.
Eventually the sun came out to play & the thaw started, creating even more water in an already sodden landscape - no walking around lake Middleton at the moment!
A few hours of unscheduled power cuts didnt help matters, but we managed to keep everyone warm and fed- Hughs’ scones on the barbecue were rather good!
Will have to wait until the snow melts more to see what damage it has done to the spring garden.
Hope everyone else is safe & warm.

Thank you to everyone for your continued support during 2024. It’s been another extremely busy year here at The Barn.
We are taking a few well earned days off to spend time with family & friends, and hope you all get to do the same.
