Building a stronger community, one conversation at a time.
For more than a decade, The Rees Hotel has been proud to support the Catalyst Trust Queenstown, a dedicated team of local volunteers committed to creating a more informed, connected, and engaged Wakatipu community.
Since hosting our first Catalyst talk in July 2014, our meeting spaces have welcomed discussions on topics as diverse as international affairs, science, conservation, democracy, immigration, and the future of our region. Every event has encouraged people to ask questions, challenge ideas, and learn from experts.
What makes Catalyst truly special is that every member of the team gives their time voluntarily. Their commitment has helped create opportunities for thousands of people across the Wakatipu to connect through knowledge and meaningful conversation.
The partnership extends beyond these talks. Together, we've supported educational workshops for local students, helped grow the Lilliput Library community book swap network, and, since Covid, every koha raised at Catalyst events has been donated to local charities and community groups connected to each event's theme.
At The Rees, supporting our community means more than opening our doors. It means standing alongside organisations like Catalyst that make the Wakatipu a richer place to live.
To the incredible volunteer team behind Catalyst, thank you for your passion, generosity, and unwavering commitment to our community. We are honoured to have been part of your journey since 2014.
Mark your calendar! Join us for the next Catalyst Talk on Thursday, 3 September at The Rees Hotel. We look forward to another evening of thought-provoking discussion and community connection.
