Job Opportunity - Contract Caretaker.
Up to 6 hours per month @ $50.00 per hour.
Hours will need to be flexible; times when there is less to do and times when there is more.
Christmas holiday time, 20 Dec to 13 Jan will require you to be available more frequently.
Term Temporary – approx. 12 - 24 months (during the initial phase of the rebuild). Reviewed monthly.
About the Role:
Pātaua Outdoor Education Trust is undergoing an exciting rebuild, and we’re looking for a friendly, reliable, local person to be our caretaker during this early stage. This medium-term, part-time contractor role is all about keeping the place running smoothly — handling bookings, both school groups and campers, answering enquiries, cleaning and ground maintenance tasks on site before we complete stage 2, the hall.
Main Responsibilities:
There are 3 main caretaker roles.
1. Bookings & Communication.
Responding to booking requests, keeping spreadsheets, communicating with schools & other campers, welcoming and checking out campers.
2. Cleaning.
Cleaning toilets, showers and kitchen as required, restocking supplies, managing bins, checking camp facilities, reporting issues and concerns.
3. Ground maintenance, including lawn mowing and edge trimming, as required.
A ride-on mower and other equipment is available.
What You’ll Need:
Reliable internet and basic computer skills. Ability to work independently. Friendly and clear communication skills. Practical approach to caretaking.
