Our golden girl wins NZ’s first ever Commonwealth 100m gold, backed up by two of our hometown favourites, 8-time ITM champ Lauren Bruce with silver in the hammer, and Maddie Wilson coming home with an 800m PB to crack 6000 points for 5th in the heptathlon!!

This was SO close to the magical sub-10, never been done in NZ or by a Kiwi anywhere, wind-assisted or not. The electronic timing got him at 10.005, which rounded up to 10.01 (+4.9) as an official time.

Will we see the Speedy Boi crack 10 at Nationals in Auckland this weekend?? we hope so!! Go well, champ.

Some of our fantastic internationals joined us for the media conference this afternoon ahead of tomorrow’s ITM26 - thanks to Cockram Hyundai for hosting us, Sarah Cowley-Ross for MC’ing, and our guests Briana Stephenson, Tiaan Whelpton, Taryn Gollshewsky, and Tatiana Kaumoana.

Questions from the floor included what they were hoping to achieve tomorrow, what advice they would give their younger selves, and what other event (besides their own) that they are most looking forward to.

Here's our last marquee athlete image, which is of superstar Para sprinter Anna Grimaldi - Athlete - but really she's the poster girl for all of our Para stars including fellow sprinter/jumper Will Stedman, shot put legends Lisa Adams and Holly Robinson, and local hero wheelchair racer Sarah James.
