Deep in the pristine jungles of Darién, Dr. Guy Harvey joined the Tropic Star Lodge team and a group of guests for a truly rare and unforgettable experience.

Beyond world-class sport fishing and marine conservation, we are proud to work alongside local communities to introduce our guests to the extraordinary wildlife that calls this untouched region home.

On this special journey, the group visited a Harpy Eagle nest and had the incredible privilege of observing a young Harpy Eagle in its natural habitat—Panama’s national bird and one of the most powerful and majestic raptors in the world.

Experiences like this remind us that the magic of Tropic Star Lodge extends far beyond the ocean, into one of the most biodiverse places on Earth. 🌿🇵🇦

A few good days on the water in Piñas Bay 🔥🎣

Mr. Couch had an epic day aboard Tiz Tiz with Captain Armando and mate Melin, putting a Blue Marlin on the board.

The Hamby group spent the last few days fishing aboard Island Star with Captain Gavilan and Elio, and judging by the flags they brought back to the dock, they had plenty of action along the way.

Then there’s Jonathan Colby and his best friend Sue, who have been having a pretty good run with the Tuna. They landed a 120-pound Yellowfin, and Jonathan says it made for some pretty good sashimi right there on the boat. Sue got in on the action too, adding a Sailfish and a Dorado.

Different boats, different fish, same stretch of water-and plenty of good stories coming back to the dock.

Some days, everything just comes together. The bite won’t quit. Every stop seems to produce. One flag after another starts filling the outrigger, and before you know it, you’re back at the dock reliving a day you’ll be talking about for years.

That was the Tarrillion family’s kind of adventure.

From Offshore Billfish to hard-fighting Inshore favorites, they experienced the best of both worlds—landing a Blue Marlin, Sailfish, Mahi, Yellowfin tuna, Cubera snapper, and Roosterfish all in the same unforgettable day. And as if that wasn’t enough, Brady landed the biggest fish of his life: a giant Yellowfin tuna aboard Beatriz with Captain Jose and mates Ligorio and Verde. Brady and his dad also added a Mahi and Sailfish to an already incredible day on the water.

Some days you catch fish. Some days you make memories you’ll be telling for the rest of your life. 🌊🎣
