From Canada to Panama: Direct Flights to Río Hato for Winter 2026–2027

Dreaming of escaping the Canadian winter, discovering Panama, or exploring whether this country could become your future home?

Good news for Canadian travellers! During the 2026–2027 winter season, Air Transat and WestJet offer direct flights to Río Hato (RIH), near Playa Blanca, Farallón and the Pacific coast of Panama.

Flying directly to Río Hato makes it easier to reach this beautiful part of the country without having to travel through Panama City first.

✈️ Air Transat: Direct Flights from Montreal, Toronto and Quebec City

According to currently published flight schedules, Air Transat's direct services are scheduled as follows:

Montreal (YUL): from October 30, 2026.

Toronto (YYZ): from October 29, 2026.

Quebec City (YQB): from December 20, 2026, through April 25, 2027, with a weekly Sunday flight.

Flight dates and availability may vary during the season.

✈️ WestJet: Another Direct Option to Panama

WestJet also operates direct flights to Río Hato from Canada.

Current published schedules indicate the following seasonal start dates:

Schedules and flight frequencies may change, so check your preferred dates directly with the airline before making plans.

A Helpful Tip Before Booking

Compare both airlines for your travel dates. Check the total fare, baggage allowance, change and cancellation conditions, and flight times before purchasing your ticket.

🌎 PANAMA, A REMINDER TO LIVE, DREAM AND KEEP MOVING FORWARD 🇵🇦

The past few days have reminded us just how unpredictable life can be.

After a frightening earthquake in Panama, many of us have taken a moment to pause, check on our loved ones, and feel grateful for what truly matters. Some areas were affected more than others, and we are thankful that our home and family are safe.

Experiences like this remind us that life doesn't always go according to plan. We cannot control everything that happens around us, but we can choose how we move forward.

Perhaps there is a lesson here for all of us: to slow down, appreciate the people we love, respect the incredible natural world we are part of, and never lose sight of the dreams that give our lives meaning.

Sometimes, an unexpected event reminds us why we wanted a change in the first place. A different lifestyle. More freedom. A new beginning. The courage to build a life that feels right for us.
