BAGUIO CITY β Exploring Camp John Hay just got greener! The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) and John Hay Management Corp. (JHMC) launched the John Hay Loop, a free electric shuttle service for residents, workers, and visitors.
π 8 stops include Main Gate, Le Monet Hotel, Scout Hill, Forest Lodge, South Drive, Outlook Drive, and the John Hay Golf area.
π Each unit seats 22 passengers, runs on a 70 kWh fast-charging lithium-ion battery, and recharges in under 90 minutes.
π± Goal: cut traffic, reduce emissions, and make mobility inside the estate smoother.
The six-month pilot program operates daily, serving nearly 4,000 residents and workers β plus tourists who prefer eco-friendly rides through Baguioβs pine-lined landmark.
BCDA chief Engr. Joshua M. Bingcang said the project βmoves us closer to a cleaner, faster, and more connected Baguioβ and could be a model for other tourist hubs.
