Tucked in a quieter spot at SM City Bataan, right in front of the supermarket, Peri-Peri feels like a low-key escape from the mall crowd. We ordered the chicken platter and sampled all their sauces. The homemade BBQ sauce is definitely the star of the show! The platter comes with a quarter chicken and two cups of java rice which is hearty enough for one hungry soul or two light eaters.
We also went for the pica platter, which featured: potato corner BBQ fries, salted egg chicken skin (crispy and addicting), 4 pieces of dynamite (for that quick chili kick).
Service-wise, I loved how the staff was attentive—even to people just browsing the menu outside. But I have to say, I felt a little awkward being gently pressured to say it was our birthday just to score a free meal. It made me wonder if there’s a quota tied to their SuperCard registrations. Slightly off-putting, but shoutout to Alas for still making the visit pleasant.
Do I recommend it? Yes.
The chicken is juicy, flavorful, and less “commercial” than what you'd get at bigger BBQ chains. It hit the spot, especially on a rainy day with fewer diners around.
