Bataan magkakaroon na ng Swedish electric boat?

Isang Sweden-based company ang posibleng maglalagay ng hi-tech na electric marine transportation sa lalawigan ng Bataan na bibiyaheng Metro Manila.

Ang maganda ba balitang ito ay ipinahayag ni Jopet Inton, Presidente at CEO ng
Bataan Baseco Joint Venture, Inc. (BBJVI), matapos magkaroon ng pulong noong Huwebes sina Swedish national Björn Antonsson, Regional CEO Asia-Pacific (APAC) ng Candela kasama si Mr. Goody Ilagan Jr., President and CEO of Earth and Shore Leisure Communities Corp at Cong. Abet Garcia, 2nd district ng Bataan.

Ang Earth and Shore Leisure Communities Corp. ang siyang developer ng sikat at class na Camaya Coast resort and hotel sa Mariveles.

Ang BBJVI naman ang siyang nagma manage ng sa malawakang 300-hectare property sa Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) sa Mariveles.

"Nakipagpulong po tayo sa kinatawan ng Candela sa pangunguna ni Swedish national Mr. Björn Antonsson, Regional CEO Asia-Pacific (APAC) ng Candela kasama rin si Mr. Goody Ilagan Jr., President and CEO of Earth and Shore Leisure Communities Corp at Cong. Abet Garcia, upang talakayin ang mga makabagong teknolohiya sa larangan ng electric marine transportation at ang mga posibleng oportunidad nito para sa ating lalawigan," pahayag ni BBJVI Pres. Inton.

Ayon kay Inton, ang Candela ay isang Swedish electric boat company na kilala sa paggawa ng mga hydrofoiling electric boats at ferries.

Sa pamamagitan ng kanilang advanced hydrofoil technology, ani Inton, nababawasan ng hanggang 80% ang konsumo sa enerhiya habang nagbibigay ng mas mabilis, mas tahimik, at zero-emission na biyahe sa dagat.

Dagdag pa ni Inton: "Ilan po sa mga tinalakay sa pulong ay ang kanilang P-12 Shuttle, na kinikilala bilang kauna-unahang electric commuter vessel sa buong mundo, gayundin ang C-8 model na may isa sa pinakamahabang range at pinakamabilis na cruising speed sa mga electric boats na kasalukuyang nasa serial production."

"Mahalaga po ang patuloy nating pag-aaral at pag-eexplore ng mga makabagong teknolohiya at modernong sistema ng transportasyon tulad nito upang makatulong sa pagpapalago ng turismo, pagpapalakas ng konektibidad, at pagsusulong ng sustainable development sa ating lalawigan," ani Inton na matagal na naging Mayor ng Hermosa, Bataan.

𝐖𝐈𝐍𝐃 𝐌𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐒 𝐒𝐀 𝐁𝐀𝐓𝐀𝐀𝐍: 𝟏𝟎𝟎 𝐌𝐖 𝐖𝐈𝐍𝐃 𝐅𝐀𝐑𝐌 𝐒𝐀 𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐒, 𝐏𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐎 𝐍𝐀

Unti-unting nagiging sentro ng renewable energy development ang bayan ng Mariveles matapos maiulat ang planong pagtatayo ng isang 100 MW onshore wind farm project na tinatawag na “Mariveles (Airstream) Wind Farm.”

Ayon sa Global Energy Monitor, ang proyekto ay pangungunahan ng Airstream Renewables Corp. at kasalukuyang nasa pre-development stage pa lamang.

Kapag natuloy, isa ito sa pinakamalalaking wind energy projects sa rehiyon at maaaring maging mahalagang hakbang ng Bataan sa paglipat sa mas malinis na enerhiya.

Ngunit hindi lang ito ang renewable energy story ng Mariveles.

Ayon sa opisyal na anunsyo ng Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB), nakamit na nito ang 100% renewable energy supply gamit ang kombinasyon ng solar at geothermal power.

Kasabay nito, may hiwalay pang malaking proyekto ang “Mariveles Offshore Wind Farm” na may target capacity na 1,500 MW at nasa early planning stage pa lamang, matapos mabigyan ng Wind Energy Service Contract ng Department of Energy noong 2022.

Sa kasalukuyan, naghahanda pa ang Airstream onshore wind project para sa NGCP System Impact Study (SIS) — isang mahalagang hakbang bago makapagsimula ng konstruksyon.

Kailangan din nitong makakuha ng Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC) mula sa DENR, na kinabibilangan ng pag-aaral sa:

• epekto sa kalikasan
• ingay at shadow flicker
• wildlife monitoring (ibon at paniki)

Bagama’t wala pang eksaktong petsa ng pagsisimula, patuloy ang pag-usad ng mga dokumento at technical studies.

Kung sakaling matuloy, posibleng makita ang Mariveles bilang isa sa mga pangunahing renewable energy hubs sa Pilipinas — kung saan industriya at kalikasan ay puwedeng magtulungan sa iisang direksyon.
