The Junior Trainers Circle and Naga College Foundation, in partnership with the National Youth Commission will spearhead the Bicol Regional Youth Leaders Forum on June 22-24, 2012 at Naga Regent Hotel, Naga City, Camarines Sur. It is not just the location that makes this Forum special; it is the passionate gathering of minds and voices fostering an intellectual and creative community. The Forum is
an interactive learning experience providing organization leaders with an opportunity to challenge their thinking. The activity where youth leaders will be sharing their talents and insight with their fellow participants will initiate stimulating discussion, debate and the shaping of new ideas. The theme of the forum, “When The Youth Speak, Adult Listens,” showcases the integral roles that young people and adults play for the advancement of each other, and the purposes of the forum that are addressed primarily towards the mutual understanding of these two conflicting, yet both notable generations. The main role of youth leaders in the forum is to creatively and thoughtfully express their ideas on how to improve communities so that they can be the best possible environments for adolescents to live in. And the role of adults at the Forum is to listen carefully to what youth say and to consider how their ideas and opinions can be maximized and incorporated into community planning. The first day will include an opening ceremony which will center to the speech of the invited Guest of Honor. It will be followed by the First Plenary Session that will tackle the issues on Vices, Corruption, and Irreligion. The second day will cover the two more important Plenary Sessions focused on the issues in Apathy, Violence, Peer Pressure, Unemployment, Illiteracy, and Media Misperceptions. The social night/party will serve as a venue for socialization for all the participants to arouse greater understanding and camaraderie among youth leaders of the region. And the third day will center on the formulation of a Forum Manifesto to be presented to concerned agencies, as well as the awarding of the Top Five Forum Speakers, and the Closing and Commitment Ceremonies. A registration fee of P 3, 500.00 will be collected from to cover expenses for hotel accommodation, food, forum kits and materials. Checks should be made payable to the Junior Trainers Circle, or payments deposited to the Producers Bank-Naga City Branch with Account Number: 05035-51-003553-08.
