🐦 BIRDWATCHING ACTIVITY | ESSENTIALS & THINGS TO PREPARE

Sept. 06, 2026

📍 Meeting Place: Jollibee Adventist
⏰ Assembly Time: 5:00 AM
Departure Time: 5:30 AM

To make our birdwatching activity comfortable, safe, and enjoyable, please prepare the following:

👕 What to Wear

1. Comfortable outdoor clothing in earth tones or neutral colors (green, brown, gray, black, etc.) to avoid easily startling the birds.
2. Long pants/trousers are highly recommended, especially if we will be walking through vegetation or trails.
3. Dry-fit or lightweight long-sleeved shirt is recommended for protection from the sun, insects, and vegetation.
4. Trekking/hiking shoes are preferred. Rubber shoes or sandals may also be used, depending on the trail conditions.

🎒 What to Bring

1. 🔭 Binoculars – highly recommended. The club has a few binoculars that can be shared with participants, but bringing your own is ideal if you have one.
2. 📷 Camera and other photography gear – optional, but feel free to bring your setup if you’re into bird photography.
3. 🦟 Insect repellent/off lotion – highly recommended.
4. 🧴 Sunscreen – for protection from prolonged sun exposure.
5. 💧 Water/hydration – please bring enough drinking water for the activity.
6. 🥪 Snacks/light food – especially since we will be starting early and may be out for several hours.
7. 📝 Notebook and pen – optional for taking notes. Your smartphone can also be used for recording observations.
8. 📖 Bird field guide/pocket guide – optional, if you have one.
9. ☂️ Umbrella or cap/hat – for protection from the sun and possible rain.
10. 🎒 Small backpack – preferably comfortable and lightweight so your hands are free for binoculars and other gear.

🐦 Birding Reminders

• Please avoid wearing bright or flashy colors and strong perfumes/fragrances.
• Keep conversations and unnecessary noise to a minimum when we are near birds. 🤫
• Move slowly and avoid sudden movements when approaching or observing birds.
• Please do not chase, corner or disturb birds just to get a better photo.
• Bring only what you need and leave no trace at the birding site.

Most importantly, come early, stay curious, and enjoy the birds! 🐦🌿🔭

See you at 5:00 AM at Jollibee Adventist! 😊
