Richelle Reyes Baria Designs is a gallery of completed and proposed projects of Arch. Richelle Rhea Reyes Baria, an assistant professor in University of the Philippines, Diliman. From residential architecture, interior architecture, commercial and recreational design, site planning and urban designs, her works explicitly express her creative, bold, vibrant and fresh take on how spaces can function
well and more so delight. "Architecture has the value of engaging and transforming people's lives. A child discovering her immediate surroundings in her colorful crib, her stimulating nursery and playroom. A student learning his skills in a well-lit and ventilated classroom, laboratory, and library. An intern preparing her presentation in an organized office cubicle, a free wifi coffee shop, or in a comfortable bench at a park. A family starting their life together in a new multi-faceted affordable house. A group of friends frolicking in the pedestrian friendly city streets, taking adventures in the next hip resort development. Business meetings ensuing, contracts and agreements getting signed in formal conference rooms, chic hotel lobbies, in lounge bars and restaurants. Communities growing in progressive towns and cities, building the harmonious and meaningful lives that they all envision. Architecture is everywhere, as there is space that surrounds us and molds us." "This fascination on how our built environment affect people, and how people grasp, use, manipulate, modify and enjoy these spaces, is what draws me to want to learn more, understand and grow in my practice and profession as a Filipino Architect. Collaborating with clients and different key players and stakeholders, with my business and design partner, associates and staff, grounds me and motivates me to create a good balance between the priorities of a design project. Creating liveable and humanistic spaces for the enjoyment of all, and giving back to the community with enabling design processes and systems, I believe, are the core values and goals of a fulfilling practice." "The consideration of user needs and requirements is not complete without researching on and integrating innovative ways on building technology, environment-centered and green design, context and culture. Architecture that safeguards its prime staging ground- the site, the land, our country, our world, and all the components that it affects, and consequently our actions herein, should not just be the dream of a few, but the way of life of everybody." It's one of the noblest profession for it brings together insights and resources to useful creation. It's benefits are tangible and non-tangible, and it transcends time."
