Last December 2024, I proudly completed the CURES Enterprise Yellow Belt Certification Program at Elevance Health. Recently, with multiple projects lined up, I wanted to ensure the highest quality in my work, so I refreshed my knowledge of CURES, our main problem-solving framework for process improvement and project development. ๐
What is CURES?
CURES is known as Elevance Health's Problem-Solving Framework. Itโs a structured methodology designed to identify root causes and deliver sustainable solutions. Unlike traditional trial-and-error approaches, CURES integrates concepts from Agile, Lean, Six Sigma, Design Thinking, and Change Management to create a unified framework for solving complex problems. ๐ฏ
How does it work? CURES follows five key phases:
โ
Collaborate โ Align stakeholders and define the project charter.
โ
Understand โ Analyze gaps, pain points, and validate root causes using data.
โ
Redesign โ Develop innovative solutions and prioritize them.
โ
Execute โ Implement changes with proper change management and stakeholder engagement.
โ
Sustain โ Standardize processes and monitor improvements for long-term success.
Refreshing these principles reminded me why CURES is such a powerful tool, it empowers us to simplify processes, break silos, and deliver meaningful impact for both the business and our customers.
