Meet Dariusz, Food & Beverage Director at Mercure Szczyrk Resort, whose 29-year journey in hospitality began in the United States on cruise ships. 💙 What he thought would only last a couple of months turned into 15 years, taking him from Assistant Waiter to Senior Management positions before returning to Poland to work in hotels. He's worked across major chains in food & beverage, and became a specialist in new openings. Mercure Szczyrk Resort is the fifth hotel he's opened from scratch and the biggest. For Dariusz, hospitality is a way of life that gives him so much pleasure because he can make people happy and see that taking effect. "For me, being a Heartist® is to care about guests and colleagues; care is the key word and that makes a real Heartist®," he shares. His advice to the next generation is simple: be patient – whatever you dream will happen, but don't give up too quickly. ✨

Meet Enkhsaruul, Seminar & Reservations Agent at Mercure Hotel Wien City, whose love for languages and people led her to hospitality. 💙 Growing up passionate about working with people and travel, she studied sinology and learned English, Russian, Chinese and German. After starting at front office as a Receptionist, she moved into reservations, where she finds meaning in every detail. What she loves most about Accor is the diverse team that functions like a family, many of whom have worked together for years, even decades. She's proud to have represented the hotel at a sales event in Prague and treasures the team workshop that brought her colleagues closer together. For Enkhsaruul, hospitality is heartwarming because it's about helping guests make memories. "A Heartist® is someone who enjoys hospitality from the heart and does the work with love," she shares. Her advice is simple: be tolerant, flexible and patient – and if you do it with heart, it shouldn't be difficult. ✨

Guest Experience Manager Roksana started at the reception desk and was promoted into a role where creativity and personal touches bring guests genuine joy - for her, even small gestures can make a big difference. Katarzyna began her Accor journey in 2022 at the Front Desk of ibis budget before joining the Mövenpick pre-opening team as a receptionist, then advancing up to Sales Coordinator. What she values most is the multicultural environment and the variety that no two days are the same. Banquets & Conferences Manager Anna leads events with precision and creativity. She believes hospitality is much more than just a job, saying, "Give it a chance! It's a career full of opportunities, creativity, and human connections. Meet Lautaro, who joined hospitality because his sister worked for Accor and he was seeking a job after finishing his degree in physiotherapy, so he dived in. From waiter to Receptionist to Housekeeper at Mercure Luxembourg Kikuoka Golf and Spa, he's spent over six years learning that this work is personal, not robotic. Whether making guests smile at the front desk or ensuring their room is spotless, his goal has always been the same: leaving people feeling better. He says hospitality helps people overcome shyness, read body language and find solutions under pressure. His advice to newcomers who feel nervous? "No one knows you are scared of the job, so pretend you are not and you will believe it." The highlight of his career is the friendships he's built and knowing he left his mark on the people who matter.
