A Slowtinys nunca foi apenas um alojamento.
Sempre foi um convite para abrandar.
Apaixonei-me pelo Norte de Portugal há alguns anos.
Pela natureza, pela tranquilidade, pelas pessoas e pela forma mais simples de viver a vida.
Quando cheguei à Branda pela primeira vez, senti imediatamente que havia qualquer coisa especial naquele lugar.
O silêncio, a paisagem, a mudança das estações, o verde intenso no inverno, a luz dos finais de tarde no verão… tudo parecia ter um ritmo diferente.
Mais calmo. Mais verdadeiro.
E lembro-me perfeitamente de olhar para a piscina natural do terreno e pensar:
“é aqui.”
Sempre tive uma ligação muito forte à natureza.
O surf, o mar e a sensação de liberdade sempre fizeram parte da minha vida.
E talvez por isso tenha sentido tão rapidamente que este lugar podia tornar-se um refúgio para outras pessoas também.
Desde o início fui recebido com uma generosidade das pessoas que moram ali.
Mesmo antes da casa estar pronta, já sentia que aquele lugar me acolhia de alguma forma.
A ideia da Slowtinys nunca foi criar apenas um sítio bonito para ficar.
Nasceu da vontade de criar um espaço onde as pessoas pudessem parar um pouco. Respirar fundo. Desligar-se da correria. Voltar a estar presentes.
Um lugar para descansar. Para ouvir o silêncio.
Para partilhar tempo com alguém importante.
Ou simplesmente para não fazer nada durante alguns dias.
Hoje, enquanto celebro mais um ano de vida, sinto-me profundamente grato por ver tantas pessoas a criarem memórias aqui.
Muitas regressam.
E isso talvez seja a parte mais bonita de tudo.
Porque no fundo, a Slowtinys sempre foi isso:
um pequeno refúgio para quem sente necessidade de abrandar 🤍
Slowtinys has never been just a place to stay.
It has always been an invitation to slow down.
I fell in love with the North of Portugal a few years ago.
With its nature, its calmness, its people, and its simpler way of living.
When I first arrived in Branda, I immediately felt there was something special about this place.
The silence, the landscape, the changing seasons, the deep green of winter, the warm light of summer evenings… everything seemed to move at a different rhythm.
Slower. More honest.
I still remember looking at the natural pool on the land and thinking:
“This is it.”
I have always had a strong connection to nature.
Surfing, the ocean, and that feeling of freedom have always been part of my life.
And perhaps that’s why I so quickly felt this place could become a refuge for others as well.
From the very beginning, I was welcomed with incredible kindness by the local people.
Even before the house was ready, I already felt that the place was somehow embracing me.
The idea behind Slowtinys was never to create just a beautiful place to stay.
It was born from the desire to create a space where people could pause for a while. Take a deep breath. Disconnect from the rush. And simply be present again.
A place to rest. To listen to silence.
To share time with someone important.
Or simply to do nothing for a few days.
Today, as I celebrate another year of life, I feel deeply grateful to see so many people creating memories here.
Many return.
And that might be the most beautiful part of it all.
Because at its core, Slowtinys has always been this:
