The shoreline at the award-winning resort Farris Bad in Norway has always been a place of departure and return. Now, it is also the home of restaurant Færd 🌊

takes its name from the old Norwegian word for journey. It’s a nod to Larvik's famous explorer Thor Heyerdahl, known for sailing the fleet Kon-Tiki across the Pacific Ocean. The seafood and farm-to-table restaurant treats dinner in the same manner: as an expedition.

Picking up the flavors from this journey, the kitchen works through fermentation, curing, and smoke. The menu is designed for sharing, naturally shifting with the season, and chef Sebastian Lundgren has made it his mission to work closely with local producers. This ethos is mirrored in the new visual identity, with a logo inspired by the moving seaweed in the Skagerrak ocean.

Færd is open and ready to be discovered. Read more and book your table at farrisbad.no/en/faerd

Earlier in May, the Nordic hospitality industry gathered at At Six in Stockholm for the launch of the Falstaff Hotel Guide Nordics 2026. It was nothing short of a success for Nordic Hotels & Resorts—with 12 of our hotels either ranked in their countries’ Top 10, or recognized with a special award 🏆

Falstaff Nordics, one of the leading authorities in travel, presented awards in two categories: rankings from the guide itself, celebrating the highest-scoring hotels, and a set of special honors recognizing standout individual and property achievements.

Among the winners were Hotel Kämp, the Helsinki landmark, which landed a perfect score of 100/100 points and was also named Hotel of the Year, Finland. In addition to the many hotel wins, Martin Andersen, General Manager of THE THIEF in Oslo, was awarded the coveted title of Hotelier of the Year, Norway.

Currently on display: the never-ending midnight sun ☀️

From now until mid-July, the sun doesn't set north of the Arctic Circle. It barely touches the horizon before it rises back up, creating summer evenings that never end, and days that fade into mornings.

This phenomenon is best experienced at Wood Hotel Bodø in northern Norway, which sits on a hillside just outside the city. The rooftop pool is where you want to be at this time, with the city and the Arctic Ocean below, the forest behind, and the sky uninterrupted in the front.

Discover Wood Hotel Bodø, a nature destination all year round, at woodbodo.com.

We are immensely proud of our landmarks Hotel Kämp in Helsinki and THE THIEF in Oslo, who have just been featured on Condé Nast Traveler’s first-ever Triple Crown list! 🇫🇮🇳🇴

A new hallmark of luxury hospitality, the Condé Nast Traveler Triple Crown is a collection of hotels that have earned all three of the publication's most prestigious accolades: the Hot List for the best new hotels, the Gold List for the editor favorites, and the Readers' Choice, the best as chosen by the audience.

Nordic Hotels & Resorts’ two winners represent two distinctively different experiences. Hotel Kämp, the grande dame of Helsinki, has been the Finnish capital’s premier meetingplace since 1887. THE THIEF, on the other hand, still manages to steal the show in Oslo with its bold and art-centric approach, more than a decade after opening.

A big congratulations to the teams! 🌟

For the third summer since opening, Hotel Fratelli in Karlstad, Sweden brings back its restaurant Isola. Meaning "island" in Italian, that's more or less what it is: a sun-drenched, lush orangery upstairs 🌞

With fountains running and a menu drawing from France and Italy, Isola serves flavorful starters, generous mains, sweet desserts, and a relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere that might make you stay longer than planned.

“A cool Nordic immersion into contemporary art”. We’re thrilled to find our Oslo landmark THE THIEF on “The List”, Harper's Bazaar’s definitive pick of the top hotels for a European city break!

A fantastic mix of dream-like grandes dames, secret urban retreats and old and new favourites, The List is chosen by an expert panel from the worlds of art, culture, business, travel and beyond.

THE THIEF is a bold treasure, hiding in plain sight. Born on Tjuvholmen, an islet once overrun by thieves, the hotel proudly carries on a legacy of making your own rules. Today, the area might have transformed into an extravagant neighbourhood, but the spirit of defiance lives on at THE THIEF—a meeting place that redefines luxury with a bold, unconventional spirit.

Congratulations to the team at THE THIEF!

A repeat success when Tak Stockholm returns with Stockholm Sake Festival 🍶

Earlier this May, restaurant TAK Stockholm hosted the second edition of . This is the only event in Sweden dedicated entirely to the Japanese beverage—but also its broader culture.

Over two days, more than 15 breweries made the journey from Japan, among them legends like Amabuki Sake Brewery, Kenbishi Sake Brewing, Kodama Brewing Company, Ninki Ichi, and more. Up on the 13th and 14th floor of TAK Stockholm, they offered direct access to the people behind the sake-making.

The program balanced accessibility with expertise, venturing beyond sake. Open lectures were free to attend, and masterclasses were available for those wanting to go deeper. Furthermore, a food court brought together some of Stockholm's best Japanese kitchens alongside showcases of knives, arcade games, ceramics, live performances, kimonos, and much more.

Stockholm Sake Festival is organized by TAK Stockholm in collaboration with Sweden's leading experts in Japanese gastronomy. After this years’ edition, it is clear that the festival is finding its footing as a fixture in Stockholm’s cultural calendar.

A Japanese bathhouse, hidden in the pine forests of the Swedish archipelago. At Yasuragi outside of Stockholm, every part of the guest journey is a curated experience ⛩️

After walking up to the resort’s entrance through a tunnel of toriis—traditional Japanese gates—guests receive a yukata at check-in. This casual kimono is meant to be worn throughout the entire stay, removing a layer of distraction from the outside world.

Before entering the many hot springs, saunas, and cold plunges, a private bathing ritual begins. Known as the cleanse, it starts in the changing rooms with a purifying wash, traditionally performed with a hinoki wood bucket. In Japan, this type of traditional bathing is a practice that cares for both body and soul.

The bathing ritual is a tradition that Yasuragi has carried for nearly 30 years. Together with a deep respect for Japanese culture and an array of restaurants and bars, this is one of the most considered wellness experiences in the Nordics.

An icon of the Finnish design world, Iittala has shaped the look and feel of homes across the Nordics for generations. Now, in a new springtime collaboration with Hotel St. George Helsinki, three of its most recognizable glass classics are veering into new territory: mixology 🍸

Ultima Thule, Tundra and the Aalto vase have served as the creative brief for the new cocktail menu at Hotel St. George’s bar Wintergarden.

Behind the concoctions is creative driving force Tuomas Hämäläinen, Bar Manager at Hotel St. George Helsinki. When stirring up the new signature menu, he followed the logic, look, and feel of each vessel.

– When I started putting the pieces together, the ingredients for something special were right there, he says.
