*The silent pains endured by TEACHERS which parents and government need to know about*

They deal with so many children that are untrained and wayward in their behaviour and outlook

They teach for hours before thinking of eating some food

They deal with disobedient pupils that some parents have already given up on

They deal with so many cases and complains as if they are employed as legal officers

They educate pupils who at the end of becoming millionaires and highly placed people in society

When bad friends and bad boys want to mislead them they stand firm to prevent that from happening

They see that all the children under their care are under full protection

They teach them good morals while other people teach them bad habits

They could not even read or write yet still the teachers are so patient enough to help them learn how to read and write

When you beat a child for bad conduct parent becomes annoyed but when they pass their exams and become useful citizens parents praise themselves and not the teachers

They go all out to copy bad habits from their friends yet still we encourage them to stick by the school rules

We shout at them, we counsel them we laugh together but yet still our efforts are not appreciated in society

A teacher with a bachelor's degree is paid a salary which is below two million leones but a graduate in another government department can boast of cars and houses and decent living
Our condition of service remains the same year in and year out with no car or loan facilities

When parents need help they meet teachers but when they cannot help them they are dragged to the police station

TRS need more pay
More loan facilities
More encouragement
High standard of living
Favourable Conditions of service
