We have arrived back in the Uk to amazing Spring weather...very lucky.

Coming up..details of

Songkran..the Thai water festival

Samui Regatta

We have availability in April and May.

This is your chance to be there for Songkran the festival starts on 13th April every year.

The festival lasts for 4 days during which thanks is given to the old year and blessings given to the forthcoming year's rainfall for growing rice.

If is a free for all on chucking water at strangers. Be prepared to get soaked and soak!

It is all done with laughter and I have even witnessed a policeman, conducting traffic, being shot with a water pistol and just carrying on as if nothing had happened!

Well here we are guys...

It is hot and wonderful.

The tide is high and swimming at Bang Por, just below the villa is at its best.

Walking the quiet beach is lovely, small family groups with small children kicking their chubby legs in the sea.

Had the best massage ever with Toy. She massages on the beach but also comes up to the villa for guests.

Just superb, and all under a mango tree looking out to the Anthong islands. I hour 300 TBT. £6.00.

Chinese New Year tomorrow, so off to Maenam to see the Dragon dance, fireworks,and all the food stalls ..side shows and all the food stalls, meals on the beach.

Crackers started yesterday... and go on and on, fizz, fizz crackle boom!

All the streets are decorated with Chinese lanterns and there is a serious feeling of anticipation.
Photos to follow tomorrow when we will watch it all.

Very exciting to be in the centre of it all on Koh Samui.

Just as an aside we had our first day of cloud coverage today, mixed with sunshine, the butterflies were amazing, as were the dragon flies all visiting our pond. Such a lovely place to sit and contemplate.

It is all so relaxing. saw no less than three different species of dragon flies, today. The swifts. are circling over the villa early mornings and in the evenings , they come up on the thermal and then graze on insects.
