1up

Provide places where children can play freely and safely, for *all* kids in Bangkok. Get your kids an Extra-Life! :D . Project Name
1UP
(then scale up)

Our mission
Provide places where children can play freely and safely, for *all* kids in Bangkok. Our scope of work
At 1UP, we imagine, design, build and manage Theme parks -> Playgrounds for children. This is REAL Reality, something children can touch, not video games. Part of the revenue is used to build playgrounds for children living in slums.
How is 1UP different? We design custom equipment and activities specifically for children development. Our parks are indoor *and* outdoor, we specialize in providing a chance to kids to express their creativity and collaborate while playing with Nature: trees, sand, water, rocks... While kids have direct contact with Nature, they learn how to make a positive impact on the world, and feel self-confident.
Any link to your project website?
[Communication not our priority yet, website down.]
Our Team
We are architects and landscape architect, assisted by a very active group of mothers and childcare specialists who give us feedback.
Is there a prototype yet? We are currently discussing with a potential partner to build the first prototype in a Hotel. We're also designing a Parkour training structure for adults in Lumpini Park (main park in central Bangkok). Both projects to be completed by December if negotiations come through.

Have you been told you can't do this, you can't do that? What could you do if you were actually supported by a positive attitude, within the proper environment?

No-one told this 2 years old kid what he could or could not do, see what's coming next...

How much do you get your kids involved?

Japan seems to think it's a great way to build self-confidence, awareness and motivation in society.

Inspiring talk by Michael Porter, business strategy teacher @ Harvard University, on how businesses become *more* successful when solving social problems.

https://www.ted.com/talks/michael_porter_why_business_can_be_good_at_solving_social_problems

Why do we turn to nonprofits, NGOs and governments to solve society's biggest problems? Michael Porter admits he's biased, as a business school professor, but he wants you to hear his case for letting business try to solve massive problems like climate change and access to water. Why? Because when b…
