The average selling price of a condominium in the CBD was 229,180 baht per square metre, an increase of 5.3%. This was followed by the average selling price for city fringe condominiums, which increased by 4.8% to 134,842 baht per sq m.

The average selling price of condominiums in the peripheral area of Bangkok increased by 3.6 percent to 76,002 baht per sq m.

The number of people paying bribes in the places surveyed varied greatly, however. For example, only 0.2 percent of Japanese people had paid a bribe while a whopping 69 percent of Indians had.

As many as 41 percent of the Thais surveyed had paid a bride over the last year. To compare that to neighboring countries, 65 percent of Vietnamese respondents had paid a bribe, 40 percent of Cambodian and Burmese had, 32 percent of Malaysians had, 26 percent of Chinese had, and 23 percent of Indonesians had.

Thailand’s government has been attempting to crack down on bribery but many have said that they ignore high-ranking ministers and other officials that accept graft.

Police were reported as the most common people to ask for bribes. A little less than a third of people who had contact with a cop in the last year were forced to pay them a bribe, according to the survey.

During February 2017, the Asia/Pacific region reported 576,109 rooms in 2,572 hotel projects under contract, which is a 3.2% year-over-year decrease
The February 2017 Pipeline Report shows 576,109 rooms in 2,572 hotel projects Under Contract in the Asia Pacific region. The total represents a 3.2% decrease in rooms Under Contract compared with February 2016.
Under Contract data includes projects in the In Construction, Final Planning and Planning stages but does not include projects in the Unconfirmed stage.
The region reported 264,519 rooms in 1,147 projects In Construction for the month. Based on number of rooms, that is a 1.5% increase in year-over-year comparisons.
Three of the region’s countries each reported more than 20,000 rooms In Construction:
China (137,641 rooms in 512 projects)
Indonesia (25,775 rooms in 135 projects)

Facebook launched a City Guides feature in the its App that enables users to book hotels and restaurants, and message or call hotels, restaurants, and tours and attractions.

Facebook quietly launched a City Guides feature in the Facebook app that enables users to book some hotels and restaurants, and message or tap to call other hotels, restaurants, and tours and attractions.

Most of the venues that appear in Facebook’s destination-oriented guides had messaging and calling features when you viewed them but for some, such as the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas and the Eliot Hotel in Boston, users could tap a Book Now button in the Facebook app and make reservations directly with the hotel.

There were also Book Now buttons for some restaurants, such as ROKA Charlotte Street restaurant in London, where dining reservations could be made through the Priceline Group’s OpenTable.
