James 5:16
Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
YOU AS A HEALER
If you are keen when reading your bible, and you are aggressive in taking what is meant for you, you'll have and manifest so much in life. Like in reading this verse, when the revelation hits you that it's not actually a pastor, a priest, or a prophet that is actually mentioned in this verse as the exclusive person to heal, but actually even you, by the virtue of your being righteous, a believer in Jesus Christ's Lordship, you'll begin to see yourself as a healer just as God sees you. You'll confess your sins to each other and pray for each other and you will be healed. Healing crusades will come and find you've healed yourselves already, all to the glory of God. Hallelujah.

INFORMATION GAP
At university, we were taught information gap and it opened my eyes. It's definition is, a situation where you don't know enough to help you decide. You might ask, why I'm I bringing that into this preaching. The reason is to help you stop suffering. Most of your suffering is because you are trusting your insufficient knowledge instead of trusting the one who knows it all. God says that He knows the plans He has for you and if He knows the plans, then surely He knows how to achieve that plan for you in your life. When you begin to trust God at His word, you'll start to see God's plan manifest in your life. So you are just a trust away from succeeding. Hallelujah.

Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.
USE ME BABY
There was a time we boarded a bus and, we ofcourse put our luggage in the boot, and in the luggage compartment up. We then took our seats comfortably and enjoyed the ride throughout having been relieved of all the weight. However, there was a man who I think hadn't boarded that kind of bus before. He entered his seat with his luggage and instead of enjoying his journey, he was overwhelmed and burdened by his load of luggage on him. Relating this experience to this verse, what if that's you? You were meant to cast your burden, your worries, your troubles, your fears unto the Lord so that he sustains you but you are busy carrying it on your own yet you are even so weak on your own? There's a secular song that says, use me baby. In the same vein, use God please. You are His baby. Hallelujah.

Be merciful to those who doubt;
YOUR ROLE
Doubting is the beginning of something that can lead to utter withdrawal or unbelief. Doubting is midway between belief and unbelief. As believers, our goal is to ensure that the person who is doubting God's goodness, faithfulness and love doesn't end up giving up on and disbelieving in God. We can do that by having mercy on those who doubt like this verse says. Most people doubt God when bad things happen to them, not knowing that doesn't take away God's love for them. Steer such people back into the faith and increase their faith by confirming truths from the bible and by your own testimonies. Hallelujah.

Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
ROOT CAUSE SOLUTION
In problem-solving, when we want long-lasting solutions, we are advised not to look at symptoms but at the root cause. If you stabbed someone, the solution is not for you to sell all your knives and remain with none. What you have to address is the bitterness in your heart or the fact that you made your heart free and accessible to the devil to use. And now that we've found that everything emanates from the heart, and that the heart is the problem, the solution is not a physical heart surgery either. You have to make the prayer David made, that God, create in me a new heart, a heart of flesh, and a loving heart. By your own means, this is unachievable, but God can. Hallelujah.

“Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.
A NEW REMEMBER
There's a way we talk of remembering things. Just like when someone says, 'remember Christmas', we can answer, 'yeah ofcourse, December 25th'. So to us, it's all about dates, and features and data. However, it's a whole lot different with God. Like in the context in this verse, when God says remember the sabbath, it's not so much a brain work but action. Someone who keeps the sabbath holy, and someone who obeys and follows God's commands, is better than someone who just knows Jesus birthday, or the colour of garment he was wearing before being crucified. So in serving God, do more than you say or know. Hallelujah.

We love because he first loved us.
LOVING FIRST
There are people out there who've given up in life, and are hopeless. They hold this belief because they have been let down before. Even now, they are in pain, in lack and no one has come to their rescue to show them love and care and so they see everyone as wicked, heartless and indifferent. This is the right time to show the world that we believers love because God loved us first. This is the right time to visit those in prison, to feed the needy we hadn't even met before, to dress those we are not even related to, and to sit down and listen to them, and to give them company in their most lonely of times, reflecting God's goodness. Hallelujah.
