Mint Chocolate Brownies
Mint chocolate brownies have 3 layers of decadence with a mint flavor!
INGREDIENTS:
Brownies:
5 ounces of sweet bitter chocolate sliced into pieces
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1/2 cup of butter
1 cup of white sugar
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons of sugar-free cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
Mint Layer
1 teaspoon of peppermint extract
3 cups of powdered sugar
3 tablespoons of milk or as needed green food coloring
upper layer
1 cup of chocolate chips
2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
INSTRUCTIONS:
Brownies:
Preheat the oven to 350° F.
Lightly grease an 8x8 skillet.
Place the chocolate and butter in a bowl and microwave and stir in 30-second increments until it melts and smooth.
Add sugar, eggs and vanilla extract.. Add flour, cocoa powder and salt and mix until fully combined.
Pour into prepared pan and bake for 30-33 minutes or until stick comes out with moist crumbs.
Let it cool down completely. Layer of mint.
Whisk the butter and peppermint extract until fluffy.
Add the powdered sugar, slowly mixing until well combined.
Add the milk 1 tablespoon at a time until it is soft and smooth. Add green food coloring and mix until fluffy and combined.
Spread over chilled brownie base.
Addition.
Heat the chocolate chips and oil in the microwave over medium heat until it melts. Spread over the mint layer.
Let it cool completely and cut into squares.
Rates:
Scratch the squares of sweet and sour chocolate into small pieces so it melts faster in the microwave.
Cover the skillet with tin foil or parchment so the brownies are easy to lift and cut. Don't over cook the brownies.
Let each layer cool before adding the next, which keeps the filling from melting.
Refrigerate the finished recipe 30 minutes before cutting for cleaner slices.
