Today my girls and I did an amazing paint pour project. It was so fun - However who would have thought it would be so hard to find paint canvas!
SO HERE IS MY LITTLE RANT ON THIS!😡
I went into Walmart to buy the canvas (and thank goodness I already had glue and paint!) and lets just say the entire process was not only frustrating but enlightening!!!
*FIRST there was ONLY one set of canvas left on the shelf and the art area was BARE!!!.😳
I will be honest I have pretty much not had to go to any stores except our little small local owned market in the south valley for small staples in about 2 weeks.
It was then that I came to the realization that Walmart is open due to being what we call "essential". However they also sell EVERYTHING - essential & nonessential‼️
Injustice - all the little small local art stores as well as larger "craft" stores are being FORCED to shut down right now because of being labeled - "non-essential!"
This is the case with MANY other businesses as well!!
Walmart sells clothes still! BUT - ALL small local owned clothing businesses are forced to be closed!
Personally I would rather shop at the small local businesses because they will have usually 2 to maybe 4 people in them at a time as opposed to 50!
Honestly the monster chains like the "Walmarts" will survive this shut down mess but now going on month 2 of a shut down it honestly is going to be hard for small businesses to ever bounce back from this mess!
If you want my honest opinion if a store is allowed to be open because of being essential then they should ONLY BE ALLOWED to sell essential - food, cleaning products, medicine.
Any stores that carry products that is considered non-essential and are forced to be shut down should NOT be allowed to be sold in the "WALMARTS" everywhere.
Just my thoughts voicing an observation as a small business owner and speaking out for ALL the small businesses out there!!!!!
I am not one to typically rant but feel SOMETHING should be said! I am not angry about this slow down time but have some BIG and very REAL concerns about how all of this is going to affect what my dad always referred to as - "THE LITTLE MAN!"
