🌙 The darkness is part of the magic. And for sea turtles, it’s part of what keeps them safe. 🐢💙

October is the final month of sea turtle nesting season, which means there are still moms coming ashore to nest and tiny hatchlings making their way toward the Gulf.

When you’re visiting Anna Maria Island, you can help:

🌙 Keep the beach dark after sunset
🐢 Give nesting turtles and hatchlings plenty of space
📱 Skip the flashlights and phone lights on the beach at night
🏖️ Take beach chairs, toys, and other items with you at the end of the day
🕳️ Fill in sand holes before you leave
🗑️ Leave no trash behind

Those dark island nights may look simple, but they make a big difference. ✨

Let’s keep Anna Maria Island beautiful, peaceful, and safe for the turtles who call these beaches home. 🌴🐢
