Spent National Trails Day In the mud on the Appalachian Trail.

Joined a wonderful Smoky Mountains Hiking Club crew fixing steps at Newfound Gap — a beautiful spot in the Smoky Mountains National Park accessible to casual and serious hikers.

The repeated “thank you” from passing hikers and families all day was evidence of the love. Grateful to American Hiking and everyone who helps care for this national treasure.

See you next year — hopefully with less mud!

Discover Mesa Verde National Park, it's a national treasure. Ancient Pueblo occupied the canyon as long as 7500 years ago. The dwellings were home to a community of 600 who left in the 12th century.
