Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, which makes it a full weekend in Blue Ridge.

Downtown usually hosts trick-or-treating along East Main Street, there are ghost tours in town, and local farms and vineyards throw costume parties of their own.

Then it’s back to the cabin, the firepit, and a scary movie.

Fall Arts in the Park fills downtown Blue Ridge on October 10 and 11, with more than 170 artists and vendors.

Down the road in Ellijay, the Georgia Apple Festival opens at the Ellijay Lions Club Fairgrounds, October 10 to 11 and again October 17 to 18.

Pirates of the High Seas & Renaissance Fest is back in Panama City Beach, October 9 to 11.

Parades Friday and Saturday, a pirate invasion on the beach Saturday afternoon, and fireworks Saturday night around Aaron Bessant Park. It is free to attend.

Watching the fireworks from a beachfront balcony is not a bad plan either. 🏴‍☠️
