Since our Lighthouse week ended, the boys, Ron and I have spent much of the time discussing special, funny and favorite times from the week.
Here's a few favs:
Ron: working with a great group of people from the families we served to the staff and volunteers.
Jonathan: flip flop
Andy: hanging out with the kids
Tami:
Too many favs to pick only one:
The smiles on the childrens’ faces was priceless. Their faces would transform from glum to huge ear-to-ear smiles!
Watching Andrew and Jonathan put another child’s happiness ahead of their own wishes.
Watching our boys share their love of fishing with other boys.
Watching all the kids and many adults play nine square.
The retreat child (in a wheelchair with limited mobility) arrived with a gloomy face, but by the Talent Show on the last night her eyes sparkled and her face was full of joy. She was even mouthing the words to the song in her act!
Listening to the boys tell funny stories about the kids’ shenanigans.
Seeing God at work even with the littlest things… producing a frisbee on the beach so the kids could play ultimate frisbee when one of the retreat boys couldn’t get in the Gulf!..answering prayers for one volunteer's migraines to subside for the week. He was only down one day the entire week!
Meeting new people, serving with amazing staff and volunteers, the prayers, worship songs and ultimately serving Jesus.
Thanks for reading. We appreciate your prayers and support!
