I wanted to share the interior spaces of both properties at Starry Skies Sanctuary on Beaver Island, Michigan

The House on the Lake is a 4 bed, 2 Bath 2,000 sq. ft. home that sleeps 10. It has a queen sized bed in each bedroom and the lower level has two twin trundle beds that are great for the kids.

The Cabin in the Woods is a 650 sq. ft. rustic cabin that we recently converted to a gameroom. It is full of activities to keep your group entertained.

The House on the Lake and The Cabin in the Woods are now both available to our guests booking Summer 2026 and beyond!

The Beaver Island Community Center is the heart of the Island. It is conveniently located right across the street from where the ferry docks. This nonprofit provides valuable services to islanders and visitors, supports local businesses, organizes community activities, and sells some great food and merch! Make sure to stop in during your visit and grab a cinnamon roll or pretzel and a t-shirt hoodie, deck of cards or all of the above!

Included in your stay with us is The House on the Lake and the Cabin in the Woods. The entire property is surrounded by the darkest skies on earth and this remote setting offers plenty of wildlife viewing opportunities, including beavers, eagles, loons, ducks, deer, turkey, snakes, turtles, toads and birds. Main home sleeps 10. Cabin is a game room with plenty of activities for the whole group. We offer an incredible value when you consider all watercrafts on property are provided free of charge to our guests. Add a stay here to your bucket list!

Always, always check for burn bans before having a campfire. We know campfire smores are yummy but we didn't have any fires this trip due to unsafe burn conditions. The fire danger has been 'High' to 'Very High' our whole trip and all it takes is one stray ember to start a large and uncontrolled burn.

If conditions are safe for a fire, feel free to use the firewood on property. Do not bring firewood with you onto the island and keep fires contained within the fire ring. Bundles of firewood can be purchased roadside on your way down to our property.

Remember, only you can prevent wildfires 🔥

We have invested heavily into the non-motorized watercrafts that we provide free of charge to our guests.

We provide:

+ 2 Canoes
+ 5 Kayaks
+2 Paddleboards
+10 foot floating dock

For your safety, please do not remove the floating dock from the water. It is large and difficult to lift so we leave it in the water hooked to the tree. A carabiner clip is provided to make it easy to hook and unhook.

Please refer to the pictures for proper watercraft storage. The kayaks and canoes must be stored upside down. Please do not lean canoes against the trees for your safety. Lake G can be very windy so completely flat is the safest way to leave the canoes when not in use. Kayaks can be leaned up against the fence along the west side of the property.

The floating dock is our favorite. We paddle or kick out to the drop off located about 50 yards off shore and the kids love jumping in and swimming around. Look for the new blue Tommy Bahama wetbag stored in the main floor hall closet to keep your items safe and dry while out on the water.

Please pull drain plug and drain all water from kayaks after use if necessary. Check that the inflatable crafts are firm before use and inflate if necessary (pump provided). We provide 10 children and infant lifevests and a few adult ones as well. Lake G is such a special place, full of wildlife and absent of crowds. Stay safe and have fun!
