🚧🏕️ More Progress at Lakehouse Resort & Event Center! 🏡

Even though we’re officially open and welcoming guests, the work certainly hasn’t stopped! Every week we’re checking more projects off the list and continuing to build out the Lakehouse.

Recent progress includes the ADA ramp at the shower house, finishing touches inside our bathrooms, and installation of our Wi-Fi network. We’re also continuing roadway work throughout the current RV section and have now started developing an additional 12 RV sites as we expand the number of sites available to our guests!

On the cabin side, the ADA Rancher deck and another Rancher cabin deck have been completed, exterior cabin lighting continues to be installed, and plenty of other behind-the-scenes projects are moving forward every day.

It’s exciting to look back at where we started and see how much this property continues to change. And the best part—you don’t have to wait until everything is finished to come enjoy it! 🌅🎣🔥

We’re OPEN and booking cabins and full hook-up RV sites now. Come spend a night or a weekend, enjoy the lake, peaceful surroundings and beautiful Southern Illinois sunsets, and watch the Lakehouse grow right along with us!

🚧 Upcoming Road Closure & Improvement! 🚧

A quick heads-up for our Lakehouse Resort & Event Center guests and neighbors! The railroad crossing on South Browning Street in West City will be temporarily closed Tuesday, August 18 through Wednesday, August 19 while the old tracks are removed and the main track is repaired. The crossing is also expected to close temporarily again the following week for resurfacing.

While there may be a little inconvenience during the work, we’re excited about the end result! These improvements should provide a smoother and easier drive to and from the Lakehouse, making the trip to your getaway even better. 🚐🏕️

If you’re staying with us during the closure, please allow a little extra travel time and follow the posted detour.

Today we’d like to give a HUGE thank you to Brooks Wortman for an incredibly thoughtful and generous gift!

After staying with us in one of our cabins last night, Brooks surprised us by donating a beautiful 12’ × 18’ American flag to fly on our 50-foot flagpole when it’s time to replace our current one.

Acts of kindness like this remind us why we love what we do. Lakehouse Resort isn’t just a place to stay—it’s a place where friendships are made and community is built.

Brooks, thank you for your generosity, your patriotism, and for choosing to spend time with us. Your gift means far more than just a flag—it represents the spirit of America, faith, freedom, and the wonderful people we’re blessed to meet along the way.

🪿 Some New Visitors Have Arrived at the Lakehouse! 🌅

One of our favorite things about Lakehouse Resort & Event Center is watching nature come to life—and tonight was no exception. A large flock of geese made themselves right at home, enjoying the peaceful lake, open fields, and beautiful surroundings as the sun set over the property.

🎉 We're Officially Open! 🎉

On July 8, we officially celebrated the soft opening of Lakehouse Resort & Event Center—and what an exciting start it has been! Since opening evening, we've already welcomed several wonderful guests, and we couldn't be more grateful.

We're excited to share that 15 of our 18 cabins are now completely ready, along with 30 of our first 42 full hook-up RV sites, featuring water, sewer, and electric. Several of our RV sites also include electric vehicle charging stations. Every cabin and RV site comes with its own picnic table and fire/cooking pit, making it easy to relax and enjoy the outdoors.

Whether you're looking for a peaceful weekend getaway, a quiet evening by the lake, or a place to unwind with family and friends, the Lakehouse is ready to welcome you.
