There’s a lot of history hiding under a fresh coat of paint.
This batch of cylinders recently came back from recertification, and one of them caught our attention. Its inspection stamps go all the way back to 1946, meaning this tank has been doing its job for about 80 years.
Since then, it has seen quite a bit: tractors got bigger, welding equipment got better, tools went cordless, and somebody eventually decided every piece of equipment needed a computer in it.
The cylinder? Inspect it, test it, stamp it, and put it back to work.
Proper inspection and recertification help keep cylinders safely in service for years—and sometimes apparently for generations.
