Very special guests in Moline this week! 🇺🇸🤝🇩🇪

We’re honored to welcome visitors from the collective municipality of Asbach, Germany as we take an exciting step toward formalizing our Sister City relationship.

During their visit, our guests will experience a full Moline itinerary, including tours of City facilities and opportunities to connect with key community partners like Moline-Coal Valley School District and Black Hawk College.

Sister City relationships bring communities together to build connections, share ideas and grow through new perspectives.

💡 Why Asbach?
Asbach is home to Wirtgen Group, a global leader in road construction and mining equipment, acquired by John Deere in 2017. That connection creates a meaningful link between our two communities.

In many ways, Asbach feels a lot like Moline:
🔹 A close-knit community across multiple municipalities
🔹 Strong local identity and pride in its roots
🔹 Rural charm paired with modern industry
🔹 Home to both global companies and local businesses
🔹 A small-town feel within reach of larger cities

🏛️ JOIN US Tuesday, April 28 at 6 p.m. for the City Council Meeting (619 16th Street), where we’ll hold an official signing ceremony to make this Sister City relationship official.

Herzlich willkommen, Verbandsgemeinde Asbach!

The largest, and most lavish, Renaissance hall north of the Alps. The Antiquarium, Hall of Antiquities, in the Munich Residence, built from 1568 to 1571 by Albrecht V Duke of Bavaria for his collection of antiques.

Germany's largest inner-city palace, combining a castle's fortifications with the opulence of a palace, it was both the seat of government and the residence of Bavarian dukes, electors and kings from 1508 to 1918.

Its Antiquarium became a banqueting hall.
