It’s been a while since we’ve introduced ourselves, so I thought I’d share a bit about who we are and what the A-frame is all about!

We are Zach and Emily, two Georgia natives who currently live about an hour south of our cabin in Blue Ridge.

🎀Parents to three amazing daughters who bring so much joy and light into our lives
🌲Spend as much time outside as we possibly can, hiking, mountain biking, boating
🌻We are backyard people, if we are home on the weekend we are probably working on our garden
✨Obsessed with homes, design and how to improve our spaces
✝️ Aiming to glorify God in all that we do


We created the A-frame to provide a peaceful place for couples to rest and reconnect. We understand first-hand how incredibly busy life can get and how important it is to take time away from the constant demands to refocus on your relationship. So we built the a-frame to be a perfect backdrop to allow you that dedicated time together, to invest back into your relationship in order to thrive in your day-to-day life.

We’re always very hands-on hosts and visit our property frequently to check on things or even stay overnight with our family. However, the in the past month it’s felt like we’ve been spending extra time giving our cabin some TLC! Here’s what we’ve been up to:

- HVAC repairs! We did eventually call in some experts on this, but not before we tried every possible DIY fix. Thankfully, we have this issue repaired and back up and running normally.
- Short term rental inspection- our local county has implemented some new regulations on Vacation cabins and we needed to add some extras before our inspection. This included larger fire extinguishers and a fire escape plan as well as an updated list of “house rules” which led to us updating our entire guest information book. This was something we had been wanting to update anyway, so it gave us some extra motivation to get that done! Thankfully, since the cabin was only built 3 years ago, everything else on the inspection list was in great shape and our a-frame passed with flying colors!
-Guest gift! - We are always thinking of ways we could improve the guest experience and give our guests a truly 5-star experience. We’ve been wanting to design a mug as a gift for each guest for a while now and they finally came in. We are so excited to start giving these to guests with a handwritten note.
- Lumber removal- When we finished building the A-frame, it seemed like a crime to dispose of so much leftover (expensive) lumber that we had already paid for. We kept it stored below the cabin for years, but finally decided it needed to go. Zach was able to pass it along to a local friend who is doing some renovations on their home, rather than wasting it. So that felt like a huge win, and we are now able to easily access the area underneath our cabin.

We had our third baby and finished building the A-frame back in 2023. So many long hours were spent planning and working, seeing our shared dream become reality. We had many hiccups the first few months, but we had amazing guests who gave us grace in those moments. (Windows leaking on Christmas Day, hot tub problems, road repairs and a cleaner who ghosted us to name a few!) We definitely didn’t have everything perfect when we started, but I’m so glad we didn’t wait for perfection. And who needs extra landscaping when you have those beautiful leaves! All that being said, I’m so thankful for the improvements we’ve been able to make over the past 3 years as we have reinvested into the property. Can anyone spot the major changes?
