Happy Flag Day from our little piece of history! 🇺🇸

​There’s something truly special about seeing Old Glory flying high today because we always vowed to make it the last thing we added to this restoration. While we still have more to do, Flag Day felt like a perfect occasion to make it happen. It feels like the house itself is tipping its hat to the stars and stripes. 💙🤍❤️

You know you’re restoring the right house when you dig into the past and find a little cowboy waiting for you.🤠

​We found these beautifully weathered snapshots hidden away in the attic. From porch portraits to a young boy in his chaps standing by his pony, these images are a beautiful reminder that we aren't the first ones to love this place, we are just the lucky ones getting to preserve it for the next generation.🤎

Did you know that the classic QWERTY keyboard layout was actually designed in the 1870s for early mechanical typewriters?

​It wasn't created to help people type faster, but actually the opposite! Early typists typed so quickly that the mechanical arms (typebars) of the machine would frequently jam together. To fix this, inventor Christopher Sholes rearranged the keys to separate the most common pairs of letters (like "ST" or "TH"), intentionally slowing down typists just enough to keep the machine running smoothly.

​Even though digital keys can't jam, the layout stuck around and became the global standard we still use every single day! History is fun! 🤎
