This just in, the Ramada Inn in Charlotte is CLOSED due to a fire yesterday. I have just spoken to the manager and they are not taking reservations currently nor was he certain they will be reopened in time for the tournament. The manager had no idea what tournament I was talking about, but he certainly had a great deal on his plate. He suggested calling back at the end of the month for any additional information. No word on any contingency plans. If anyone knows more, please advise. That is all.

For all you darters out there who knew Bate Crudup, who passed away last month, the memorial honoring him has been rescheduled for Jan. 21 (Saturday) at 4 p.m. at The Firm (the former West End Tavern, and the former Cole Mill Billiards) on Cole Mill Road in Durham. At the moment plans cal for remembrances to start at 4, followed by a pot luck, then blind draw. More details to come as they develop.

The darting community in North Carolina has lost a dear friend. There was a time when Bate was about the best dart thrower anywhere. He had many friends across the state. Bate Crudup has passed away at age 65.

Rob was a good friend of darts in North Carolina -- not to mention a pretty fair shot. I'm no judge of his poker playing ability, but he seemed to be pretty good at that too.
