🌿 Grounding into Values — A Powerful Staff Retreat at Rock Creek Retreet Center 🐎
Today, Rock Creek Retreet Center had the honor of holding space for a staff retreat for a local nonprofit. Jodi Freeman of Dream Catchers facilitated a two‑hour Earth & Equine experience titled “Grounding into Values.”
We began by coming together and setting intention for our time. From there, the team walked the nature trail and participated in a guided visualization focused on how they want their work to unfold this year. Each person identified a core value they feel called to embody this season.
Holding that word in mind, they walked the labyrinth — reflecting, clarifying, grounding.
Then we entered the horse paddock.
One by one, participants had the opportunity to receive feedback from the horses around their chosen value and alignment. It was powerful to witness how the horses validated — and at times gently refined — what staff members shared about their intentions. The clarity that emerged was tangible.
One staff member shared that he typically experiences a high level of anxiety, especially around animals. Yet after grounding in nature, being thoughtfully introduced to the horses, and understanding how horses reflect and respond to energy, he described his interaction as peaceful and deeply impactful. Watching that shift unfold was incredibly meaningful.
Each participant left with greater clarity around their values, purpose, and alignment as they move into this season of their work.
Today felt like the Earth & Equine framework fully came together — nature, intention, embodiment, reflection, and equine feedback working in harmony.
