We have specifically engineered Ozone generators to produce more ozone per hour than anything commercially available on the market today. We did this so that we could quickly build the parts per million (ppm) of Ozone up to a level that is lethal for pathogens at a much faster rate than anything available on the market today. This is important for 2 main reasons, it brings our cost down for our customers and the process is completed much faster so that you can return to your clean smelling and 100% disinfected indoor environment.
After our Ozone shock treatment a technician will evacuate (approx. 30 minutes) the area by opening doors, windows and using forced air until the ozone has returned to a safe level at or below 0.05ppm. In just a short period of time, you will return to a healthier indoor environment that smells as fresh as a recent rainfall.
June 26, 2001 - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) amends the food additive regulations to provide the safe use of OZONE in gaseous and aqueous phases as an antimicrobial agent on food, including meat and poultry.
What is Ozone?
Ozone is a pale blue, unstable gas that is very active. It is an unstable molecule consisting of 3 atoms of oxygen; whereas normal oxygen has 2 atoms. Because the ozone molecule is so unstable, it quickly breaks away from the other oxygen atoms. These lone oxygen atoms go in search of other atoms to re-form into oxygen. If it finds a carbon or sulfur molecule, it will break into that molecule destroying it in the process.
Free oxygen atoms are highly reactive and they will oxidize almost anything (including viruses, bacteria, organic and inorganic compounds) they contact, making ozone an enormously powerful disinfectant and oxidizer. Since most indoor air pollutants are carbon and sulfur based, ozone will attack them, leaving only oxygen in their place.
Ozone is a much stronger oxidizer than other common disinfectants such as chlorine and hypochlorite. The usage of chlorine in many countries has been decreased significantly due to the possible formation of carcinogenic by-products during the disinfection process. In contrast, ozone disinfection does not produce any harmful residues, and all the residual ozone will be converted back to oxygen in a short time. Ozone is considered an environmentally friendly disinfectant.
Good Ozone - Bad Ozone
Good ozone is not to be confused with smog, which is commonly referred to as ozone. Low level or surface ozone (smog) is formed when oxygen combines with volatile organic compounds (nitrogen oxides from motor vehicle and power plant emissions, solvents, etc.) which then chemically react in the presence of sunlight and warmth.
Good ozone is produced by lightning (that “fresh air smell” after a storm) and by ultra-violet radiation; it purifies our environment naturally. Ozone gas purifies the air, leaving oxygen in its place.
Our Proprietary High Powered Ozone Generators produce nothing but pure ozone. The EPA has determined that the highest level of safe ozone is 0.05 ppm. We generate ozone at lethal levels exceeding 20.0 ppm in our “Ozone Blasting.” That is why people, pets or plants cannot remain in the property during our treatments which average at least 2 hours in length.
